Programs

Through its four programs, IACO provides legal advice in immigration and tax obligations, represents its members before the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS), gives seminars and conferences, and participates in community and civic campaigns, while creating and developing projects that facilitate the integration of immigrants into society.

Immigration and Citizenship Program

This program was created to advice, assist and represent the immigrants in their immigration procedures before the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), and related agencies and departments. Through this program, IACO helps American citizens and legal permanent residents in the process of family reunification. The program further seeks to guide these immigrants in their processes to legal residency and naturalization. IACO’s accompaniment does not end with the adjustment of status or when a “Green Card” is granted, IACO accompaniment finishes when the immigrant obtains the American citizenship.

Education and Training Program

The program is designed to help individuals with little command of the English language and are in the process of obtaining their American citizenship.

Immigrant Integration Program

The main purpose of this program is to bring awareness to the immigrant population in particular and to the whole population in general: governmental officials, non-profit organizations, consular delegations, and civil society about the importance of integrating the immigrants into the American Society. And also, help immigrants identify their responsibilities, obligations and rights in society so they can participate in the creation of a society more secure, stable and fair.

Professional Assistance Program

This program was created to advice immigrants in diverse areas of the law, accounting and taxes. This program helps immigrants to know if they must file a tax return or not.
